Your application is reviewed against five practical principles.

    People know what to expect before, during and when things change.

    People can choose where, how and at what pace they take part.

  3. 3. Calm

    Sensory load and interruptions are managed, with room to reset.

  4. 4. Comms

    Asking for what you need is easy, and you are listened to.

  5. 5. Commitment

    Someone owns this, keeps learning and plans the next step.

// How it works

  1. 1Choose your route — Space, Business or Product — and take the Brain First pledge.
  2. 2Answer 15 short questions, three for each principle. They save as you go, so there's no pressure to finish in one sitting.
  3. 3Pay £500 + VAT for the year. One Mark covers one site, business or product, and payment renews annually with reminders first.
  4. 4Add your evidence — photos, documents or links — and submit within 90 days of payment.
  5. 5Brain First reviews your application. Once approved, you get the Mark and join the public directory.

Answer the questions first — the fee is charged only once they're done, and renews automatically each year. It includes your assessment, clear feedback, directory listing and the Mark files once approved.

How long does it take?

Most people finish in a few hours spread over a couple of weeks. You have 90 days from payment, and your answers save as you go.

What counts as evidence?

A photo, a screenshot, a document or a link. JPG, PNG or PDF up to 10MB each.

What if I'm not ready yet?

We send it back with feedback for each principle, and you get 30 days to update it. No extra charge.

Does it renew?

Yes, once a year. You'll tell us what you improved and what's next. Payment renews automatically and you'll get reminders first.
